Zippers are measured by their functional length—from the top stop to the bottom stop—not by the total length of the fabric tape. If you need a specific, non-standard length, we can custom-cut it for you.

Closed-end zippers do not come completely apart at the bottom (ideal for pants, pockets, and bags). Separating zippers disconnect fully at the bottom (standard for jackets and coats).

The number refers to the approximate width of the zipper teeth in millimeters when zipped closed. A #3 is thin and lightweight (dresses/slacks), a #5 is medium-weight (standard jackets), and a #8 or #10 is heavy-duty (outerwear/large bags).
